Always concerned with the education and developmental life experiences of little Byron, Argus regularly works on building the appropriate level of puggish self esteem in Lord Byron. Among all things pug-like, a proper high-held head and tightly curled tail are the signs of exceptionally high personal confidence. Here’s a unique inside look at Argus’ never before seen methods of developing legendary self esteem in his young wards. Click here for the full photo sequence.

The training continues as Argus helps little Byron learn everything there is to know about being a pug. Today, the focus was on “banking and turning” at speed, and Byron was learning Argus’ tricks for running at top speed in a circle (otherwise know as “Pugtona"). Here, Argus is observing and commenting on Byron’s form and technique. It looks as though Byron is running a bit “front low” according to Argus, which is the result Byron not stretching out his stride enough. “The kid has potential, though,” Argus was heard to say.

There’s just so much for a little lordly pug in Pugsville to learn. On one hand he needs to strut like a proud pug, and on the other he must wear fashion with the utmost of style and grace. Then there are all the proper pug noises like grunts, groans, groggles, gripes, snorts, and sniggles. And then the pee-pads, don’t get him started on the pee-pads! It all adds up to an exhausting process, learning how to be just the right kind of dignified cute, Byron needed some quiet time with his favorite pink piggy.

Argus is perhaps the most caring and benevolent monarch we’ve ever seen. Here, he’s showing more evidence that he’s really taking little Lord Byron under his wing and teaching him puggly ways and means. Here we can see Argus meticulously schooling Byron in the proper stance and swagger that denotes a pug of proper lineage. In this shot, it appears as though Argus is covering the appropriate bend and width of his rear legs… and Byron looks to be studying closely.

Byron is turning out to be an exceptionally intelligent addition to Pugsville, and potentially a genius efficiency expert. As you can see here, Byron has assessed the situation and resolved a highly efficient method for himself. Rather than play with his toys throughout the cottage, he has elected to play with them right in the plushly padded toy bin. Then, when he tires of play time, all he needs to do is stop and go to sleep. And when he wakes up, his toys are close at hand. Brilliant efficiency planning!

The royal outfitters finally had their opportunity to spend some time with little Lord Byron at the specific request of Argus (he insisted that Byron be quickly brought up to the high standards of Pugsville fashion). Here we can see Byron practicing his action poses in anticipation of being asked to be photographed for the Pugsville.com Fashion section. We’ll see what Argus thinks, but the kid shows promise.

Ah… to be a young strapping Lordling pug in Pugsville with an entire world waiting for you at your doorstep. Little Byron already shows signs of following in the footsteps of great explorers from the Pugsville House of Lords as he can barely take his eyes off the great outdoors. Is he fantasizing about grand excursions to the top of famous mountains? Perhaps he’s anticipating royal safaris on the Serengeti, or exploring the vast rain forest. The future looks bright for little Lord Byron.

Being a proper Kingly role model for the newest addition to Pugsville has taken it’s toll on poor Argus. As all great monarchs do, Argus took little Byron under his tutelage and showed him all the special niceties of being a proper Pug of exceptional title. From the appropriate manner in which to politely enter a a pee-pad, to the refined way in which to gnaw on a bone, Argus was there to teach Byron the most exquisite of manners. And now, Argus is demonstrating the proper regal nap method.

After a little breakfast and a rousing pug-rub, Byron was back in top form and ready to resume exploration and discovery of Pugsville. Here, we can see Byron practicing his duties for Her Majesty’s Most Ancient And Noble Order as he envisions himself as Chief of The Day for the Royal Guard and is striking a noble pose while on lookout. Of course, 0.65 seconds later, Byron was seen scrambling down the rocks after a leaf blowing in the wind. He needs to work on his focus.

The introduction to Pugsville was very exhausting for little Lord Byron. All the things to see, the places to explore, the running, the jumping, and eating have taken its toll on this little guy. The morning of his second full day in Pugsville got off to a slow start as even Argus’ royal attendants had trouble rousing poor Byron from his sleepy state. Click for more sleepy pictures.

Lord Byron’s first full day in Pugsville was filled with all kinds of new adventures and things to discover on the cottage’s south lawn. Here we see Byron already holding his head in a proper fashion befitting the most distinguished of members of the House of Lords. Perhaps he’s watching the butterflies in the royal garden, or simply just admiring his new setting. Of course, Byron could never stray far from Argus’ careful eye on the young Lord’s first venture onto the lawn. We see our beloved King taking Byron under his wing and assuming a role of “big brother” to help Byron become acclimated to life in Pugsville. We’re all admiring the look of concern on our Kind as he tends to our young new addition.
On second thought, it looks as though King Argus is merely concerned for his favorite mini-tennis ball that Byron has discovered.

No that’s not a cute little hand puppet, that’s a cute little Lord! Today we welcomed a new addition to the Pugsville House of Lords, Lord Byron, Second Earl of Havelsham, Member of Her Majesty’s Most Ancient And Noble Order, Companion of the Queen’s Service Order, and Aide-de-Camp to His Majesty. Our new little Lord is 9 weeks old and anxious to get out and about in Pugsville to see all there is to see. Here, he’s pretending he’s on one of the Royal mountain climbing expeditions as he scales the sheer cliffs of a mighty towering peak in the cottage’s east garden.

Here we see Argus enjoying a sunny spot during one of his strolls through the trails of the Pugsville Cottage gardens. On this fine late summer day, the affairs of state are washing away and Argus has a chance to enjoy the cool breeze flowing through his country estate. I’m sure his thoughts are wandering to contemplate the bees, butterflies, and song birds on such a fine day. (Actually, it looks more like he’s making sure he’s properly posed for the photo!)

The official ribbon-cutting ceremony for Argus’ country cottage commenced today with quiet celebration in the September sunshine. Nestled deep in the southern vale of the Pugsville Forest, the Pugsville Cottage is the perfect place for royalty to enjoy pastoral walks among the finely tended gardens, smell the wide array of flowers, and chase away the occasional squirrel that dares to set foot in the royal garden.

No one likes Mondays, especially rainy, dark, damp, dreary, cold, miserable, pathetic excuse for a day, Mondays mornings in mid-September. Argus wandered down from his stately bed, mustered just enough energy to consider a few bites of breakfast, then headed straight for his favorite cozy day-bed. Because of the terrible dank deluge out the window, King Argus officially declared Pugsville closed for the day and all official functions are canceled until further notice.
