After a long and arduous journey to all corners of the world, Argus, King of Pugsville, has settled on his new domain. Pugsville is now in the paradise otherwise known as Scottsdale, Arizona. But the new task is at hand, supervising the design and development of the perfect desert oasis for he and his royal subjects. Here, Argus is deep in thought over the plans for his garden, pond, and cool shady spots while basking in the warm late-winter sun. Or, maybe he’s just basking in the sun. It doesn’t matter, as the King of Pugsville may do whatever he likes, and he likes what he does.

Pugsville Is Moving. As the whim of royalty is often unpredictable and, at best, fickle, King Argus one day decided that Pugsville must move. Move where you might ask? Well, according to Argus, where he is needed the most—where Pugs are few, people are friendly, the weather is cool, and he where can establish a new order of Puggery among the eager masses. And as we know, Argus is a hands-on monarch, so here he is with the lead truck in the Pugsville convoy, blazing the trail into a new future for pugs everywhere.

Izzie Ballou the pug,
is the cutest little girl,
like a dewdrop ladybug,
she’s my tiny pearl.
If I go outside, or off to shop
she takes my shoe,
and runs to flop,
and not to chew.
I open the door,
and what am I to do?
Only one on the floor,
Izzie Ballou, where’s my other shoe?

Playtime for Byron and Isabella as Argus attends to affairs of state and leaves them on their own. Isabella is pretending they’re being held prisoner in the Pugsville Pokey and is looking to "break out of this joint." Byron, not quite in-sync with Isabella’s make-believe, is concerned about who will feed them if they escape.

Spring is in full session at the Pugsville Cottage, and King Argus is monitoring the progress of the grounds crew in the east garden. While spring typically means hard work, the crew is always honored when Argus presides over their efforts with his regal presence.

Isabella likes to play “peek-a-boo” in her plush new nap-bed that King Argus had custom made for her. Argus and Byron are a little disappointed that very little actual napping is going on. However, they’re pleased that she appreciates the expensive fabric made at the world-renowned Shitzu Monastery. We’re not certain, but we hear that being this cute is illegal in seven states.

The issue of nap time arose soon after little Lebowski settled in at Pugsville. After all, puppies need sleep, but proper pugs need even more sleep. Here we see our guest wondering how he’s going to find a soft spot to snooze. Click here to find out what happened next.

After the day’s excitement of an odd sound from the Pugsville Cottage south garden, Argus settled back to a wonderful afternoon nap in the sun. Click here for a special larger version

The hazy, lazy days have come early to Pugsville this April. The three royal pugs were caught snoozing in the warm afternoon sun, only to be abruptly snapped awake by an unknown sound. Isabella, on the right immediately thought it was from someone coming to oogle lavish praise over how cute she is. Argus, in the middle, thought he heard someone open a jar of some tasty pug treats. And poor Byron, on the left, thought, “I already chased that ball 1,817 times today.”

This week, King Argus began an effort to foster new commerce opportunities between Pugsville and Labradorland. During the ongoing negotiations, it was learned that the Labrador Cultural Attache would be traveling abroad for several months, and was not satisfied with the accommodations for his son, Jeffrey “Scuba” Lebowski. Argus volunteered the Pugsville Cottage to serve as Lebowski’s home until his dad returns from his travels. Here we can see Byron is exhausted after a full day of “cultural learning and exchanges”.

The spring daffodils are in full swing in the east garden of the Pugsville Cottage. Byron and Isabella were so inspired by the flowers that they donned their bunny ears and hopped around the garden like two little easter bunnies delivering their eggs. After last year’s ill-fated attempt at spring-cheer, Argus decided to watch these two from the comfort of a cushion on the porch.

He drools and dribbles little gobs of drips.
He sprawls out wide, not cuddled up close.
He stays thin and lean, not wide and solid.
He digs little holes to burry little trasures.
He chases squirrels and retrieves what you throw.
But in the body of a pug this is no pug,
certainly not any pug that we have known.
A tea cup mastiff he is,
a giant heart, all our own.

Byron is turning out to be the consummate athlete extraordinaire. He’s mastered the fine art of chasing the tennis ball at a young age. No one can match his skills and finesse in an intense game of “keep away”. And his speed is legendary as he darts about the natural obstacle course of the Pugsville gardens. Now, with all those accomplishments under his belt, he has only one thing to say, “Put me in coach!”

Late winter, the wind is whistling outside, the fire is roaring inside, and little pugs dream of spring to come. After a cold romp outside in the show, Argus told little Isabella and Byron all about spring. He told them about peepers in the back. He told them about squirrels in the yard. He told them about flowers in the garden. He told them about the… (yawn) the… (yawn) the need to nap in winter.

A popular TV host with a show focused more on people training than dog training, stopped by Pugsville today for a special visit with Argus. Every once in a while, he (the host) encounters difficult problems with misunderstood pugs, and Argus is always happy to help him understand the unique nature, requirements, and expectations of pugs. But this visit, he met little Lady Isabella for the first time, and was so humbled by the experience, he left behind a rarely seen token of his admiration.

In one of his rare modeling jobs, Argus brought Byron to Aspen for a photo-shoot for the Aspen Style Magazine article on pet fashions. Here we see the boys posing for one of the shots (they ended up not using this shot) near the resort lodge. Argus decided to accept this photo request, on the condition that Byron be included, to see if he can help jump-start Byron’s aspirations for a modeling career. So far, it looks like Byron knows how to work it.

All that glitters is a spoiled little pug. Lady Isabella is quickly learning all that Argus has to say about being a sophisticated pug of the aristocracy. And in fact, she’s turning into quite the little diva with her own growing staff of fashion and style consultants. Here we can Isabella is so pleased with one of the most recent custom creations from the royal jeweler that she would not take it off, even for an afternoon nap.

Little Isabella is not one to sit idly by and let the boys have all the fun. She’s learning how to be a tough little pug princess while maintaining a high degree of cute perfection. Here we can see our little lady jumping right in the middle of the boy’s tug-session and getting in a good tug, snort, and growl all of her own!

Look, let me explain something. I’m not Argus, I look like Argus, but I’m not Argus, I’m Bryon, or The Goob. So that’s what you call me. That, or Goober. His Goobeness. Or El Gooberino, if, you know, you’re not into the whole brevity thing.
